      Preparation Note

      The sample consists of one PUF (polyurethane foam) plug that has been spiked with semivolatile organic compounds.

      Sample preparation
      Remove plug from the 20 mL VOA vial. ?Use caution, free liquid may be present. ?
      Place the PUF plug into the extraction glassware to be used. ?
      Rinse the VOA vial that contained the PUF plug with the extraction solvent to be used at least three times to transfer the entire contents of the vial. ?
      Extract the sample using your normal procedures.
